We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Mechanical Engineering based out of Woodland Hills, CA. As a manager of Mechanical Engineering at Northrop Grumman you will have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation. What You'll get to Do:

You will provide functional management and program support to the Mechanical Engineering team. As a functional leader, you will manage a team of approximately 20 engineers. Your responsibilities will include working on strategic initiatives to help shape the future of hardware engineering excellence, facilitating employee growth, staffing and special assignments in support of the functional homeroom. The Mechanical Engineering team researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products for inertial navigation systems used in land, air, and space applications.

Functional Responsibilities Include:

• Staffing support to Woodland Hills Programs.
• Conducting periodic performance evaluations, including mid-year and annual reviews
• Providing technical leadership and guidance to the staff
• Professional development and mentoring of direct reports
• Supporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects which include process improvement, process maintenance, corrective, and preventive action implementation

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline w/ 9+ years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 7+ years of related experience, or a PhD with 4+ years of experience.
• Mechanical design and analysis experience
• Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team.
• Technical leadership with a track record of completing projects on budget and schedule
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance
• SolidWorks and/or NX Experience
• Development and implementation of processes to ensure product development efficiency and accuracy.
• Experienced with failure analysis techniques and methods (RCCAs)
• Direct management of people including performance management and hiring.

Salary Range: $130,500 USD - $195,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
