    We have an opening for either a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our talented, diverse team in Redondo Beach, CA.

    What You'll get to Do:
    As a Mission Planning Capability Lead on this team, you will be the thread lead defining, developing, decomposing, analyzing, verifying, and validating requirements related to Mission Planning. In this role, you will be interacting with the customer and leadership to define and maintain the technical baseline and will be the Subject Matter Expert for Mission Planning. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to help drive the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is horizontally synchronized across software and systems engineering teams for your Mission Planning capability.

    You'll Bring These Qualifications:

    • 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline; 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree; 4 years of experience with a PhD
    • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
    • Understanding of software development enough to convert system level requirements into software level requirements
    • Experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
    • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
    • Experience working with Ground Segments and Space Systems
    • Ability to travel up to 10%
    • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to get an SCI (has never been denied for an SCI before)

    These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

    • Experience working in an Agile development environment
    • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML, UML) and concepts
    • Experience and familiarity with mission planning concepts
    • Prior experience as a capability lead or thread
    • Excellent technical writing and team building skills
    • Active SCI and/or SAP Clearance

    Salary Range: $129,700 - $194,500

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
