The Payload and Ground Systems organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the war-fighter. Northrop Grumman, Space Components and Strategic Businesses Business Unit (BU), designs, manufactures and operates small and medium-class spacecraft for communications, imaging, scientific, exploration and national security space applications. The Group is leading supplier of space components that power and enable satellites of all classes, provides technical engineering services to government agencies and laboratories, and is developing exciting new satellite servicing and advanced space flight technologies.

Our BU is seeking a Policies Procedures Analyst to join our team to support our Operating Units (OUs) in Goleta, Oxnard, Commerce, or San Diego, CA; East Hartford, CT; Devens, Lanham or Beltsville, MD; St. Charles, MO; and Charlotte, NC locations.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures.
  • Develops and/or analyzes and revises existing administrative operations and management controls including standard practices, operating procedures, management systems, and reporting documentation.
  • Develops and/or coordinates improved policies, methods, procedures, instructions, and forms to achieve greater operations efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Analyze existing operational processes and develop sense for operational needs of team members.
  • Work with manufacturing personnel to develop, improve, document, and transition new processes to manufacturing.
  • Supports lean principals for process improvements as applicable.
  • Document workflows and processes based on requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Develop subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
  • Take strong ownership to drive documentation through process from inputs to final distribution.
  • Conduct quality review of materials.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in Quality, Engineering, or Contracts
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100
  • Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in SharePoint
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to multi-task and support multiple projects
  • Ability to recognize and reduce/eliminate non-value operations
  • Ability to proactively identify issues, escalate to appropriate channels, and suggest solutions to leadership for review
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and individual contributor
  • Ability to lead projects and work to closure
  • US Citizen

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with manufacturing in aerospace and/or space operations is highly desired
  • Knowledge of industry practices
  • Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks
  • Expert in the field of policies and procedures
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma

Salary Range: $61,900 USD - $92,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
