    Position summary

    ility and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Must be a US Citizen and have a TS/SCI with ACTIVE Polygraph
    • Must have 5 years' experience with Bachelors in Science; 3 years with Masters; 0 years with PhD
    • Knowledge of the OSI model/framework
    • Knowledge of common networking protocols (Ethernet, BGP, MPLS, VLAN, IP, IPsec, TCP, UDP, etc.) through all layers of the protocol stack
    • Knowledge and familiarity for common internet applications and standards (HTTPS, SNMP, DNS, SSH, etc.)
    • Familiarity with network packet parsing software and tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, network miner, etc.)
    • Familiarity with packet collection techniques and frameworks
    • Experience with PCAP analysis
    • Practical knowledge of the Linux environment, common tools
    • Ability to script (python, bash, perl, etc.) to parse voluminous data sets and log files

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Degree in STEM field
    • Network topology mapping/reverse-engineering
    • Knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Systems
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking
    • Curiosity and passion for investigating issues
    • Ability to communicate findings via written or presentation material
    • Industry certifications (CISSP, A+, Network+, CCNA, etc.)

    Salary Range: $118,000 - $177,000

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
