    The candidate will be responsible for the following:

    • Analyze multiple data sources in detail to identify trends and patterns using engineering fundamentals.
    • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
    • Summarize and socialize data, make conclusions, and provide direction on problems identified.
    • Identify, evaluate, and recommend core technologies and strategies
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Capable of peer reviewing and applying more advanced visualization concepts

    This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

    Basic Qualifications ( Principal Data Scientist ):

    • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD;
    • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.
    • Familiarity with JavaScript, Flask/Django and/or Bootstrap.
    • Knowledge of data gathering, cleansing and transformation techniques.
    • Familiarity with common data science toolkits such as Python/R.
    • Understanding of Agile Software Development.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Hands-on experience with core Python data science tools (Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, SciKit-Learn, etc.)
    • Hands-on experience with deep learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
    • Knowledge of single-board computers (Raspberry Pi, Jetson) and microcontrollers (Arduino).
    • Experience with anomaly detection and synthetic data strategies for machine learning.
    • Knowledge of databases (SQL Server, AWS Databases (DynamoDB, RDS, or similar)) and schema. Data engineering skillsets.
    • Experience with Generative AI tools and frameworks (Stable Diffusion, GPT, HuggingFace, etc.)
    • Experience with computer vision (CNN, Transformer architectures) and image/video data preparation for machine learning.
    • Hands-on experience with time series analysis and sequence modeling.
    • Experience configuring and extracting data from mixed-reality platforms (HoloLens 2).
    • Expertise with Cloud environments (Azure, AWS-SageMaker, S3, etc.)
    • Hands-on experience with sensor deployments (IoT sensors) and automating data collection and processing in industrial settings.
    • Experience with rendering engines (Blender) or game engines (Unity, Unreal).
    • Experience with dashboarding frameworks (Plotly Dash, Panel, Streamlit, Tableau, etc.)
    • MLOps knowledge and experience executing the full machine learning lifecycle. Agile development.

    Hands-on experience establishing applied machine learning best practices and achieving functional excellence.

    Salary Range: $115,200 USD - $172,800 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
