Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer/Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals as a Dimensional Engineer. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL where technology and teamwork come together. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Digital Transformation working in a collaborative environment while promoting a positive and proactive teamwork environment.
The Dimensional Engineer will serve the sector as the accountable program focal for the dimensional configuration of Air Vehicle programs. They will be responsible for the development and integration of dimensional strategies utilizing Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) best practices and digital toolsets for all design parts & assemblies.
The Dimensional Engineer will represent the program in Production Operations and Design IPTs as the focal for delivering guidance for technical changes to the nominal that improve repeatability, optimizes variability, and reduces costs within aggressive process capabilities. They will conceptualize and implement dimensional solutions that meet design, manufacturing, cost and quality objectives. These solutions will be created and optimized through the execution of variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity simulations to determine optimal results.
The Dimensional Engineer will be responsible for supporting advanced Building Blocks and Air Vehicle Manufacturing activities to validate/analyze as-built data, participate in problem resolution, confirm that the dimensional management strategy meets program objectives.
The Dimensional Engineer will help their team to develop/document best practices, mentor individuals in the analysis process and tool suite, and interface with program leadership across multiple programs to further the development of the DM/VA organization.

Salary Range: $82,000 USD - $123,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,600 USD - $152,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
