Principal Engineer Reliability

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Reliability Engineer, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The Engineer will be assigned work in the Logistics & Modernization organization performing System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering Analysis. The selected candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all design changes and new development efforts to ensure that R&M program requirements are achieved. The primary responsibility of the position will be reliability, maintainability, and testability.

Essential Functions:

• Perform R&M allocations and predictions
• Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) analysis
• Perform Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis
• Perform mission reliability analysis
• Failure tracking within the Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
• Experience with maintainability demonstrations
• Develop/review/approve Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS)
• Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers for the R&M of assigned subsystems

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university and 5 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in (STEM) and 3 years of engineering experience
• Must have experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline
• Must have the ability to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering
• 5 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability discipline
• Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
• Active, In scope DoD Secret clearance within the last 5 years with Special Program Access

Salary Range: $79,700 USD - $119,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
