Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector is looking for a Principal Engineer Software to support the SIGINT Technology Center's (STC) Alchemy Program team. The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production. The location of this position is in Chantilly, Virginia. Primary responsibilities of a successful candidate will include:

• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
• Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Department of Defense (DoD) up to TS/SCI level security clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
• 5+ years software engineering experience
• Experience programming in a software language such as C++, Java, etc.
• Experience working in Linux environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Master's degree in Computer Science or STEM related discipline
• Experience working with Docker
• OMS/UCI experience
• Java programming experience
• Experience with EO/IR and/or Signals Intelligence

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
