Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Principal Material Process Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, California.

Essential Functions :
The Electrical Component & Material Screening (ECMS) Labs needs an experienced M&P Engineer to Lead the Plastics Lab. The Plastics Lab plays an integral role in the screening of electrical materials designated for Space programs by performing the acceptance tests needed for Receiving Inspection, Recertification, and PWB Acceptance. In addition to acceptance testing, Plastics engages in flight testing needed for manufacturing and qualifications for new materials and processes. Their test capabilities include mechanical testing, environmental testing, adhesive characterization, ESD testing, and analytical testing. The Plastics Lab's unique combination of test capabilities has made it the go-to place for innovative testing at Space Park.

The ECMS Lab Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Plastics Lab:

• Assigning and overseeing lab tasks to meet customer's needs
• Maintaining safety and environmental compliance
• Maintaining lab equipment and supplies
• Supplying technical input and support to programs and special projects

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 5 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 3 years of engineering experience.
• Experience interpreting specifications or technical documentation
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD-Secret/Top Secret level clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous Lab Experience
• Experience with Electrical, Electronic and Electro-mechanical (EEE) Components and Materials
• Project Management
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
