Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading provider of space-based capabilities serving national security, military, civil and commercial customers. Northrop Grumman SSSD has an opening for a Principal Quality Assurance Policy and Strategy Analyst to join our Mission Assurance team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits as part of the Division's QMS audit plan. The Auditor will participate as audit team member or Lead Auditor on various audits to verify and validate the SSSD AS9100/IS0 9001 Quality Management System. You will join a team dedicated to effective management of processes and tools that enable the organization to perform their roles within a compliant Quality Management System that is both agile and constantly improved for the common good.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and execute annual internal QMS audits, in compliance with AS9100 Internal audit requirements. Task includes documenting audit results, recording, tracking and verifying successful closure of audit findings.
  • Plan and facilitate third party certification/surveillance audits with our external certifying body. Identifying candidate processes for auditing, providing auditee training/coaching, and communicating, documenting, and ensuring closure of all audit findings.
  • Identify major findings, minor findings, opportunities for improvement and observations, and report information to the process owner.
  • Initiate, review, and approve corrective action responses and evaluate effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
  • Support to program/process compliance audits, where synergy with QMS audits exist.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with minimum of 6 years' experience or 10+ years of hands-on experience in areas related to Quality Management Systems, QMS/ISO/AS9100 audit, data analysis and/or corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Current or previous experience within aerospace
  • Scrum/Agile/Lean6Sigma experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Secret level with a background investigation date within 10 years; OR Dept of Energy L clearance with a background investigation date within 10 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Certified AS9100 Lead Auditor
  • SharePoint or similar tool development / administration experience
  • Experience in Project Management roles
  • Scrum Master certification
  • Lean / SixSigma certification
  • Active (in-scope) DOD Clearance

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
