Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located Clearfield, Utah

As quality engineering, we define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. We assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers are in accordance with contractual requirements. We assess program performance and risks, and help to determine resources to ensure contract compliance. Do you enjoy solving problems? Come join our team!

This role may be filled as a Principal or Senior Principal Engineer Mission Assurance depending on the qualifications below.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Authoring documentation to instruct operations on successful execution of quality requirements
  • Manage and coordinate non-conformance containment and corrective action implementation activities
  • Lead data collection, analysis, and customer interface
  • Write and manage risk mitigation actions and assuring their implementation.
  • Contribute to design change control reviews and implementation
  • Support internal audits, process observations and area assessments
  • Establish and maintain collaboration partnership across functions and programs, customers, program management, and other support organizations

Each member has individual assignments, but we work as a united team to identify and resolve potential issues before timelines are impacted. Work schedule:

  • Opening on A, B & C shifts
  • Must be willing to work any shift

Work schedules can vary, with the following shift options:
Shift A: Monday - Thursday 10 hr per shift- 6:00pm - 4:30pm
Shift B: Monday - Thursday 10 hr shift 3:30pm - 2:00am
Shift C: Friday - Sunday 12 hr shift 6:00am - 6:30pm

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree STEM discipline and 5+ years of Quality Engineering and or Mission Assurance work experience; OR a Master's Degree and 3+ years of work experience
  • Knowledge of Inspection Plans and First Article Inspections
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years and the ability to obtain special program access

Senior Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of Quality engineering and or Mission Assurance work experience; OR a Master's Degree and 7+ years of work experience
  • Knowledge of Inspection Plans and First Article Inspections
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance last investigated within 5 1/2 years and the ability to obtain special program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings
  • Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles
  • Background in Composites

Salary Range 2: $98,700 USD - $148,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
