Principal Software/Software Engineer (2/3)

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Launch and Missile Defense Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer level 2 or 3 based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

You will be responsible for high-level design, software development, and system integration of algorithm solutions. Development is performed at all levels of the system product to include: concept, design, test, installation, operation, and maintenance. This ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinates with development and test teams to perform integration and resolve defects with improvement recommendations
• Drives the engineering process development, continuous improvement, and affordability initiatives within their program
Basic Qualifications:

• Level 2 - 2 years of related experience; 0 years of related experience with a Masters
• Level 3 - 5 years of related experience; 3 years of related experience with a Masters
• Experience working in a Linux development environment
• Applied C/C++ development experience
• Experience or familiarity with state estimation and tracking algorithms
• Experience with legacy software baselines and modernization efforts to include services, containers and Kubernetes
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related discipline
• DoD Secret Clearance or Higher
• Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with DevSecOps and Agile Development

Salary Range: $81,700 USD - $122,500 USD
Salary Range 2: $101,200 USD - $151,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
