    Position summary

    lopment of aircraft Thermal subsystems as well as the integration of aircraft avionics and the installation of various aircraft hardware. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to develop solutions to routine technical problems and contribute to the completion of routine technical tasks with moderate to minimal supervision. The candidate should be proficient in 3-D modeling techniques to create basic airframe layouts and accomplish drawing changes in support of new and existing designs.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Generate drawings/solid models in support of the development and design of an aircraft Thermal Management System
    • Designing piping, equipment structural supports/mounting and bracketry along with equipment arrangements and installations. This position plays a key role in the support of space, weight, manufacturability, and installation efficient designs.
    • Candidate shall be a mechanical engineering professional experienced in design, manufacturing, materials and processes, handling, and creation of designs/drawings per DoD100, configuration management, BOM management, fastener selection, materials selection and finish requirements for and military aircraft environment.
    • The candidate shall be well versed in 3D CAD tools such as NX.
    • The designer will interface with engineering disciplines (such as structural, thermal. manufacturing, quality, mass properties and equipment suppliers) to generate production hardware and installations.
    • The understanding and/or background in manufacturing methods and processes is beneficial for this position.
    • Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
    • Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
    • System level evaluations to verify requirements and ensure airworthiness criteria are met.
    • Attend internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.

    Basic Qualifications Principal Thermal Design Engineer:

    • Bachelors of Science, or a STEM discipline AND 5 years of engineering experience, Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of engineering experience, OR PhD in STEM discipline AND 0 years or engineering experience.
    • Must have professional experience in thermal design related to the designing of piping, equipment structural supports/mounting and bracketry along with equipment arrangements and installations.
    • This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance, and Contract Award.

    Basic Qualifications Sr. Principal Thermal Design Engineer:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of engineering experience, Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of engineering experience, OR PhD in STEM discipline AND 4 years or engineering experience.
    • Must have professional experience in thermal design related to the designing of piping, equipment structural supports/mounting and bracketry along with equipment arrangements and installations.
    • Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
    • This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance, and Contract Award.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with aircraft subsystem development, with requirements definition, specification development, component analysis, procurement, source selection, integration and test and verification for advanced aircraft.
    • Experience with the military airworthiness certification process using MIL-HDBK-516.
    • Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
    • Demonstrated experience in leadership related to integrated product teams, including supplier and customer (internal and external) relations.
    • NX solid modeling software and Teamcenter data management software experience is preferred.
    • Active Secret clearance

    Salary Range: $95,000 - $142,400
    Salary Range 2: $117,700 - $176,500

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
