The Category Management Planning Specialist will be supporting multiple programs with Foundries and Microelectronics Critical Suppliers across the Mission Systems Sector by aligning program needs and Sector Strategies.

  • Negotiates, manages, and foster strong relationships with suppliers
  • Defines and develops material strategy to align it to Sector and Program Strategy
  • Implements metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized and performance requirements are achieved
  • Works with cross-functional teams to analyze supply base risks & opportunities, support program needs
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources
  • Aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
  • Assesses rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.
  • Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
  • Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.
  • Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts.
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

This position can be hired at a level 3 or a level 4 and be worked 100% remote or out of Baltimore, MD facility. Travel will be required 25% of the time.

The basic requirements for a level 3 are:
Bachelor's and 6+ years of experience in supply chain or business management or Master's and 4+ years of experience in supply chain or business management The basic requirements for a level 4 are:
Bachelor's and 10+ yrs experience in supply chain or business management or Master's and 8+ yrs experience in supply chain or business management

Both levels must have:

  • Experience on Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Management, Operations, and/or related experience
  • Detail and Teamwork oriented with demonstrated organizational skills
  • Work both independently and in a team environment; experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong negotiation skills & strategies for supplier engagement
  • Business acumen and ability to make business-based decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to bring matters/issues to successful closure
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to address complex matters/solutions with Senior Leadership and customers
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • You will need to be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certification
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications
  • IPC-620 knowledge
  • PMP trained or certified
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Possesses current DOD Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $76,000 USD - $119,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $94,200 USD - $148,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
