AOA Xinetics (AOX), a wholly owned Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP), Payload and Ground Systems Division Business Venture, is a leading supplier of complex electro-optic and photonic systems and subsystems that control and manipulate light waves for a variety of applications. AOA-Xinetics designs, develops, and manufactures precision, advanced optical products and systems such as deformable mirrors, optical systems, adaptive optics control systems and silicon carbide optical structures for the https://U.S. Government, commercial customers, and https://U.S. defense prime and second-tier contractors. Markets for these technologies include civilian astronomy and semiconductor capital equipment as well as defense ISR and Directed Energy. We are currently seeking a Production Test Technician 3 to support Manufacturing activities in Devens, MA.

Overview:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, the Production Test Technicians sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Lays out and assembles units for production equipment according to designs and specifications. Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed. Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed. Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Role and Responsibilities:
The Test Technician should also have proficiency in using a broad range of measuring and monitoring equipment (oscilloscopes, function and waveform generators, power supplies and meters, current sensors and probes, etc.) to both perform the tests as specified and to troubleshoot

The Test Technician will perform acceptance test procedures that verify equipment function. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Selection, set up, calibration and operation of simple to complex equipment and facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies in the process of testing a unit.
  • Verification and validation of product and paperwork configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration.
  • Measuring, collecting and recording of electrical performance data as required by the test specifications including analysis and evaluation of the data to the test specification requirements and prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.

The Test Technicians may be asked to support engineering efforts including:

  • Assisting engineers in performance of design verification tests including the setup and operation of test equipment.
  • Performing initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment to verify that the tests can be performed as specified.
  • Set up test apparatus and conduct tests of production assemblies and units

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electrical, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or other related technical field, or equivalent military training and 4 yrs related experience. A High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Proficiency using measuring and monitoring equipment such as oscilloscopes, function and waveform generators, power supplies and meters, current sensors and probes
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to work independently and with personnel of multiple disciplines and functions to achieve job objectives
  • Ability to work around high voltage and current
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience working closely with Test and Manufacturing engineers
  • Experience with continuous improvement and process improvement principles
  • Experience writing and running different types of scripts (python, bash, etc.)

Salary Range: $54,500 - $90,900

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
