Northrop Grumman Space Systems Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a Director of Site Operations to lead and integrate Division-level non-recurring capital and investment projects with on-going facility operations. This position is located in Roy, UT. This role reports directly to the Division Director of Strategy & Operations. This role will focus on the capital investments of non-recurring construction and stand-up of multiple Division facilities, as well as sustaining operations at these locations. Locations include, but are not limited to, Roy, UT, Huntsville, AL and Colorado Springs, CO.

In this position, the leader will be expected to:

  • Lead and direct an experienced and diverse Division Projects team responsible for non-recurring Division investment projects - inclusive of capital investments, associated construction, etc.
  • Run site operations for all sites within the Division portfolio. Support local teams at each location in the execution of company business.
  • Direct Environmental Safety, Health, and Medical (ESHM) program for the Division. Provide the resources, personnel and processes to foster a safe working environment for all employees at these sites.
  • Develop SDS Division level processes, procedures and guidance documents for non-engineering operations
  • Support strategic planning to include provision of required data for development of the Division annual operating plan, long range strategic plan , and Capital Plan
  • Works closely with and/or provides advice and counsel to company and/or vendor representatives
  • Prepares charts and briefings on status/progress and processes; attend and present in the appropriate cadences to ensure stakeholder awareness through Executive level
  • Manages and maintain all metrics associated with Division Projects
  • Identifies risks and develops and implements associated mitigations and/or recovery plans
  • Collaborates across Division organizations - inclusive of Program Office, Engineering, HR, Business Management and Division Leadership- to drive accountability and meet performance requirements and expectations to support Division success

Specifically for the capital and construction portfolio the candidate will be expected to:

  • Inspects or directs the inspection of Division construction installations progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, cost and schedules requirements.
  • Partner with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings for Division projects
  • Coordinate major Division facility constructions or modifications or leasing and real estate activities
  • Review and authorize Change Order activity and other contract activities relating to Division construction and facilities modification and rearrangements.

A successful candidate for this role will possess proven ability to:

  • Develop content, package, and brief communications effectively at an Executive level to inform and drive decisions
  • Hold responsibility for project budgets and prepare requests, make recommendations, and track expenditures and performance against plan
  • Collaborate across multiple functional organizations and product teams to lead through influence and ensure execution of respective scopes of work against project plan
  • Act with a sense of urgency and accountability; taking ownership of tasks and strategic direction
  • Nurture and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Manage large-scale and diverse portfolio of investments; on the order of $30M or greater

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience; inclusive of 3 years of experience of leadership of projects and delivering on cost and schedule expectations
  • Experience managing large-scale and diverse portfolio of investments
  • Experience managing project budgets and preparing requests, making recommendations, and tracking expenditures and performance against plan
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance, with periodic review within last 6 years

Salary Range: $171,100 USD - $256,700 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
