The development of smart armament systems, designed to increase the competitive advantage of our armed forces, is accelerating. This has increased the need for a non-destructive test technician who has a passion for technology development, paired with demonstrated expertise in customer service excellence. For this position, technicians are required to provide prior NDT experience documentation and certification that will meet NAS 410 current revision requirements. This team member will drive to continually outperform the competition and exceed customer expectations while acting with integrity, loyalty, and respect.
The technician will primarily utilize radiographic, ultrasonic and eddy current technologies to provide inspection service support to the design team here in Plymouth, as wells as to our test facility at the Proving Grounds in Elk River, and various production facilities both within NGC and at our associated suppliers.
Radiographic capabilities include acquisition and analysis utilizing various radiographic technologies, including conventional x-ray, flash x-ray and computed tomography. Ultrasonic capabilities include ultrasonic testing, design of UT test fixtures and automation of test data acquisition and post inspection data processing.
Responsibilities:
Basic Required Skills:
Meet the NAS 410 requirements for Level 3 Radiography, ultrasound and eddy current inspection methods. A minimum of 10 years of aerospace experience in a quality organization.
Proficient programming skills utilizing LabVIEW.
Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
Ultrasonic and Eddy Current fixture specification, design, fabrication and tryout experience.
Knowledge of automated NDT inspection systems.
Write clear detailed operating procedures (DOP) and standard operating procedures (SOP).
Review and approve drawing notes and quality documentation which specifies the proper NDT testing procedures.
Excellent computer competency with the ability to use MS Office applications as well as image processing and automated defect recognition software.
Self-starter who can manage the design of test systems from concept initiation, design, fabrication and system tryout.
Manage the development of NDT planning for the Plymouth facility including training level I and II personnel per NAS 410 requirements.
Experience with mechanical ordnance components, electrical components including printed circuit cards as well as explosive and energetic components.
Must be able to work without direct supervision.

Salary Range: $67,400 USD - $112,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
