Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Earned Value Project Manager with the technical expertise, background, and people skills to coordinate and perform a wide range of program planning and business management efforts within the Command & Launch (C&L) Infrastructure Integrated Product Team (IPT). This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program.

What You'll Get To Do:
The Earned Value Project Manager is responsible for working directly with Control Account Managers and Work Package Leads to collect inputs, perform analyses, and develop compliant outputs and reports to both satisfy contractual obligations and provide the necessary data for leadership to make key decisions on program direction, staffing, etc.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing interim and final earned value metrics to identify cost and schedule performance, identify trends, and screen data integrity issues prior to engaging with program leadership.
  • Performing analysis to determine the key drivers of cost and/or schedule deficiencies and quantify the magnitude of impacts.
  • Supporting budget and staffing analyses to ensure staffing plans/forecasts are aligned with ETC and BCWS.
  • Supporting Risk and Opportunity Management processes to ensure that risks and opportunities are adequately reflected in the EAC and kept up to date with the most accurate data.
  • Interfacing directly with Control Account Managers (CAMs), Work Package Leads (WPLs), and other stakeholders as needed to collect the supplemental information required to provide thorough variance explanations, change rationales, and other outputs.
  • Coordinating regularly with Infrastructure IPT leadership to ensure that leadership is aware of the latest status and areas of concern.
  • Coordinate Program Increment, Rolling Wave, and Comprehensive EAC planning exercises across the Infrastructure IPT.
  • Providing regular briefings, reports, and other communications to leadership that are clear, concise, and accurate.
  • Compiling variance explanations, ETC forecasts, change requests, and other regular business cadence outputs to Infrastructure IPT CAMs for review and approval.
  • Generating Change Control Board packages and Budget Change Requests in coordination with CAMs and WPLs and support briefings to the appropriate review boards.
  • Supporting the integrated planning of complex interdependent projects to support Sentinel program milestones, balancing prioritization of Engineering resources between competing projects and teams.
  • Ensuring schedules and program plans are credible, substantiated by quantitative data, and bounded by risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting a comprehensive risk and opportunity management program for the Infrastructure IPT.
  • Ensuring adherence to Business Management processes and requirements for Earned Value reporting and other planning outputs.
  • Tracking status against the program business rhythm and other deliverable due dates and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Maintaining consistency and high quality of project management work products.
  • May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Project Manager: 6 years with Bachelors; 4 years with Masters; or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree .
  • Sr. Principal Project Manager: 10 years with Bachelors; 8 years with Masters; or 14 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree .
  • 1+ years experience with project management and/or Earned Value Management.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance with SAP clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience managing subcontracts and/or Inter-organizational Work Orders (IWO).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.

Salary Range: $74,600 - $111,800
Salary Range 2: $92,400 - $138,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
