Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Cloud Engineer supporting ongoing Cloud migration and deployment efforts. This position will be located in Fairfax, VA.

The selected candidate will assist with Cloud deployment design and documentation and will need domain knowledge of the existing systems to include: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of STEM related engineering experience
• Experience in the following disciplines: Cloud Administration, AWS, Terraform/Cloud Formation, installation of software, networking and Linux
• Experience deploying applications in cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud., and can elaborate on the -aaS hierarchy.
• Experience in scripting/programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, .Net, Java, C, and C#
• Infrastructure automation experience with tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc
• Basic infrastructure knowledge in Backup/Storage and Network technologies
• Active Top Secret/SCI with polygraph (Required to be considered)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep knowledge of deploying secure applications using Kubernetes or other similar tooling
• Prior experience migrating legacy architecture to cloud environments
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Understanding of SCRUM and AGILE methodology.

Salary Range: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
