Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Collective Military Intelligence Trainer to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Bliss near El Paso, Texas. The selected candidate will provide consulting expertise to military or defense clients as the Fort Bliss Mission Command Training Center (MTC) Collective Training Team Intelligence Mentor-Trainer.

Responsibilities:

  • Coaches, mentors, and trains Army Battalion, Brigade, and Division Intelligence Warfighting Function (WfF) staffs
  • Shares expertise in all facets of intelligence planning, collection, fusion, and dissemination
  • Leads the team effort to develop the Intelligence preparation of the Battlefield (IPB) and appropriate annexes to operations orders and FRAGOs in support of operations anywhere on the continuum of conflict from civil-support to Large-Scale Combat Operations (LSCO)
  • Must be knowledgeable in the integration and operation of Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS)
  • Candidate should be fully versed in all aspects of Army Battalion, Brigade, and Division operational functions and Intelligence WfF products
  • Must be fully conversant in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and how to use the MDMP to develop the appropriate operations order/fragmentary order, and must be capable of providing over-the-shoulder mentorship to and training to Army leadership and staff sections on staff procedures and processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to:
    • Provides expertise in the development and preparation of training scenarios, decision support products, and mission-type orders (WARNOs, OPORDs, FRAGOs, etc.)
    • Advises and helps script opposing forces (OPFOR) orders and operations in support of training exercises
    • Attends initial, mid, and final exercise planning conferences as required by the customer
    • Attends training events within the III Corps hub and spoke sites
    • Coordinates with Army units to take operational/tactical intent of commanders and senior leaders and develop into actionable tasks that fully support the mission
    • Candidate must demonstrate the skills and ability to perform complex, professional defense research, analyze tasks, and develop innovative approaches and solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 14 years of professional leadership experience
    • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional leadership experience
    • Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional leadership experience
  • Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance with the ability to pass a Counter-Intelligence (CI) polygraph examination
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with the Distributed Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) family of systems, with the ability to advise Battalion and Brigade Intelligence staff members on how to best utilize the system in support of IPB and ongoing operations
  • Working knowledge of other MCIS such as the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Command Post of the Future (CPoF), and the Joint Battle Command-Platform (JBC-P) / Joint Capabilities Release (JCR)
  • Expert-level knowledge of OPFOR doctrine and how the OPFOR will fight in a LSCO environment
  • Familiarity with the tenets of Multi-Domain Operations
  • Must be able to work on-site at Fort Bliss, Texas
  • Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Former Brigade-level or higher Intelligence Officer (S2) for an Armor, Infantry, or Field Artillery brigade
  • Graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education (ILE) or service equivalent (MEL4)
  • Master's degree (subject immaterial) from an accredited college or university
  • Extensive, recent (within the past five years) experience serving on Brigade and/or Division-level staffs
  • Experience as an observer/controller at one of the Army's combat training centers (CTCs)
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Army simulation systems (i.e., IEWTPT; JLCCTC WARSIM; LVC-IA)

Salary Range: $81,600 USD - $122,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
