Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Sr. Principal Network Engineer to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused project working with a team of qualified diverse individuals in Dulles, VA.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network design.
• Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with 9 years of IT experience; OR an Associates degree with 11 years of IT experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 13 years of IT experience is required.
• Familiar with various network protocols, such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
• Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies such as VLANs, trunking (port tagging), spanning-tree and protocols.
• Understanding and operating network CLI's (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
• Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree Network Engineering, a CCNA certification, and 5 years of Network administration of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Worked in or with cloud-based technologies.

Salary Range: $138,300 USD - $207,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
