Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is an industry-leading provider for prime satellite and payload capabilities and directed energy and electronics solutions for national security, military, and civil customers. Northrop Grumman, Strategic Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Sr. Principal Industrial Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.

The Industrial Engineer supports the Industrial Engineering and Scheduling organization in process and systems & integration projects. Have an understanding of Industrial Engineering and Production Scheduling, as well as in using ERP systems such as SAP. Individual will help interpret capacity analysis and incorporate into what-if scenario simulations before applying to project schedule for review.

Responsibilities/Skills Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering fundamentals including the principles of capacity (efficiencies, standards, constraints, etc.)
  • Experience with project and manufacturing schedules
  • Engage and collaborate with programs and functional organizations (from individual contributors to executive staff) to obtain, understand, and interpret manufacturing facilitation and scheduling requirements
  • Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution
  • Documentation of process and system problems/resolution for future reference
  • Possess strong organizational, planning and decision making skills, and the ability to work cohesively as a member of current and cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline plus 9 years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 7 years of engineering experience
  • Proven leadership experience on a project and/or team
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with using ERP systems such as SAP
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance or SCI Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Shop Floor Control Systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Discrete Event Simulation Software
  • Current in scope SCI Clearance, DoD
  • Strong Understanding of SAP/MRP Systems
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and self-starter
  • Ability to present (PowerPoint, speaking in front of upper management, technical presentations vs overviews)

Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
