Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer for our organization in Warner Robins, GA that are ready to use their knowledge of advanced digital technologies and engineering experience to help us develop deployable solutions for our customers.

This requisition may be filled as a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer or a Staff Systems Engineer.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to leverage your knowledge and expertise.

  • Develop system architectures and designs for complex Electronic Warfare and Electronic Support Measures systems
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to develop digital electronic subsystems and allocating functionality to subsystem components
  • Design and model digital signal processing and control algorithms for Embedded Processors, ASIC, and FPGA technologies
  • Provide direction and oversight to internal and external design teams developing subsystem modules and components such as FPGAs, SoCs, Processors, and Antennas
  • Plan and execute integration and test activities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with System, Hardware, and Software engineers to define product architectures and designs to meet customer requirements
  • Model and simulation of DSP algorithms in Matlab/Python or other higher level languages
  • Creating subsystem requirement specifications and directing design engineers during development process
  • Developing integration and test plans for subsystems
  • Collaborating with design and implementation teams to ensure requirements are met on schedule and within budget
  • Monitor and participate in the development of industry standards
  • Learning, applying and driving improvement of internal engineering processes
  • Supporting managers in business capture activities as needed

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related STEM field.
  • 9+ years of professional experience in related industry (7 with MS, 4 with PhD)
  • Domain knowledge and experience in some of the following or similar areas: Electronic Warfare, Radar, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Receivers, Direct Digital Waveform Generation, Software Defined Radio, SWaP Constrained Processing
  • Experience working on systems development projects that encompass both hardware and software
  • Experience in all aspects of the Systems Engineering process including system design, system integration, system verification (https://e.g. system's integration laboratory testing), system qualification (https://e.g. environmental / airworthiness qualification testing) and system validation (https://e.g. end-user platform testing), and production / sustainment support
  • US Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related STEM field.
  • 14+ years of professional experience in related industry (12 with MS, 9 with PhD)
  • Domain knowledge and experience in some of the following or similar areas: Electronic Warfare, Radar, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Receivers, Direct Digital Waveform Generation, Software Defined Radio, SWaP Constrained Processing
  • Experience working on systems development projects that encompass both hardware and software
  • Experience in all aspects of the Systems Engineering process including system design, system integration, system verification (https://e.g. system's integration laboratory testing), system qualification (https://e.g. environmental / airworthiness qualification testing) and system validation (https://e.g. end-user platform testing), and production / sustainment support
  • US Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Experience designing FPGA based Electronic Warfare systems
  • Experience designing battery powered, low SWaP systems
  • Background as an RF, hardware, and/or firmware designer
  • ACTIVE US Security Clearance at Secret level or higher

Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000
Salary Range 2: $139,000 - $208,600

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
