    One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking a Sr. Staff Digital Engineering (DE) Lead Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to lead development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
    What You'll get to Do:

    • Lead a cross-functional team include MBSE, MS&A, domain SMEs, software and platform engineers to develop cutting edge software solutions for DoD mission critical programs of record.

    • Utilize MBSE tools such as Cameo and MS&A tools to develop detailed models that integrate sub-system models across multiple domains

    • Inform systems and demonstrations that combine technologies created by other MDA efforts into products that solve critical customer mission needs.

    • Drive the development and integration plan leading to the successful demonstration of cutting edge capabilities.

    • Develop system level roadmaps capturing the advancement of MDA and other relevant technologies.

    • Lead system engineering activities: trade studies, functional analysis, requirement decomposition/allocation, interface definition and specifications.

    • Coordinate between the Chief Engineer, SEIT Lead, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.

      This position will serve on-site in Linthicum / Annapolis Junction, MD.
      Basic Qualifications for Sr. Staff Digital Engineering Lead Systems Engineer:

    • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience

    • Experience facilitating internal and customer collaboration to capture and enhance engineering artifacts

    • Experience developing conceptual, logical, physical (MBSE) or analytical models (MS&A)

    • Demonstrated experience in systems development, integration, and test.

    • Develop systems deliverables, to include requirements, CONOPs, etc.

    • Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.

    • Demonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering language SysML.

    • Risk and Opportunity Management experience.

    • Experience leading technical teams.

    • Current active DoD TS/SCI with poly security per clearance business requirements.

    • This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
      Preferred Qualifications for Sr. Staff Digital Engineering Lead Systems Engineer:

    • Advanced Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields

    • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.

    • Experience working with CAMEO or other similar MBSE management tools.

    • Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements (e.g., UAF, DoDAF).

    • Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally.

    • Experience with DevSecOps including use of CI/CD pipelines

      *Salary Range: *$179,600 - $282,200
      The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
