Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer (Systems Architect/Digital Engineering Lead) to act as the Digital Engineering Lead for an Advanced Weapons priority program opportunity. The selected candidate will work closely with the program manager and chief engineer to oversee the implementation and execution of digital engineering on the program.

This position is located in Northridge, CA; relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities include:

  • Mature the system architecture of, implementation of, and support for advanced programs digital transformation capabilities.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain an Integrated Digital Environment on the program consistent with Northrop Grumman's digital transformation strategy and in compliance with the customers' Digital Environment requirements
  • Collaboration with the Northrop Grumman Digital Transformation Office to enable the broad use of digital toolkits, agile development, modular building blocks, and model-based application based on the program experience
  • Coordinate with program team leads to ensure all engineering, manufacturing, other disciplines digital tools and Digital Environment needs are addressed
  • Drive performance against program metrics aligned with functional leads to understand progress against digital efforts and manage monthly readout sessions
  • Define, manage, and support the incremental rollout of Digital Environment capabilities
  • Assess Business Value and Return on Investment of the digital capabilities implemented

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current/active Secret clearance that has been issued/adjudicated in the past five (5) years.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Software, etc.)
  • Minimum of 17 years of related, engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to lead Cross functional leadership and ability to work in matrixed organizations.
  • Thorough understanding of the Systems Engineering process.
  • Experience in assimilating system concepts and integrated subsystem contributions.
  • Prior experience developing an understanding of customer needs with a track record of solving their problems.
  • Experience with Integrated Digital development, model-based concepts and tools, agile methodology, cloud based PaaS and SaaS capabilities, and IIoT.
  • Deep experience in identifying opportunities, estimating impact of initiatives, and driving to value capture.
  • Familiarity with embedded software development methods, SW Factory concepts, and DevOps.
  • Fluency in data sciences, architectures, and relational database applications.
  • Understanding of data analytics and AI applications.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and complex systems development and integration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in an Engineering discipline preferred.
  • Current SSBI.

Salary Range: $173,300 USD - $259,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
