Our Aerospace Systems Survivability Department is looking for a Modeling and Sim Engineer to help shape the future of the sector, the company, and our customers as part of our Operational Test and Evaluation section. The successful candidate will be collaborative, innovative, and forward thinking, working in a dynamic and unique environment that provides unparalleled insight into our company and our customer. As part of this role, you have the opportunity to support a diverse portfolio of research and technology development activities, refine existing program requirements, and influence the pursuit of future technologies and capabilities. Our work influences the design of the next generation of aircraft and is a driving force behind the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices. We work closely with our government customers to evaluate the opportunities to assess and evaluate the performance of a wide range of platforms. In this role, the breadth and depth of your growth and development are limited only by your willingness to learn and challenge yourself.

Essential Duties:

  • Candidate will provide modeling, test, analysis, and support to accomplish long-term objectives related to program development of multiple platforms
  • Successful candidate will be responsible for supporting military threat modeling and performance assessments and system survivability analyses.
  • Collaborate across the engineering disciplines and technology areas to integrate capabilities, and communicate technical abilities and analysis with internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • This person can travel most of the time, or be located in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. Candidates should expect a significant amount of travel in this position for extended periods of time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of engineering experience, OR a Master's Degree in STEM and 12 years of engineering related experience, OR a PhD Degree in STEM and 9 years of engineering related experience.
  • A current active U.S. Government in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).
  • Knowledge of threat systems including radar, IR/EO/Acoustic, EA/EW systems, or low observables.
  • Proficiency in survivability techniques, special technologies, and applications to platforms with the ability to identify and quantify effects of technologies to vehicles
  • Specific experience with development, integration, and/or test of complex weapon systems and military architectures is required
  • Strong project management and team leadership skills are required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in flight test; including test plans, analysis plans, test execution, and data analysis.
  • Technical depth in one or more of the following areas: EW/EA systems, radar sensor (to include early warning/surveillance, surface to air/air to air), threat system integration, and advanced sensors.
  • Knowledge in writing scripts for post processing data and data parsing tailored for unique test needs.
  • A current active Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) clearance.

Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $234,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
