Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer to join the Command and Launch Team. This position will be located in Roy, UT and support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here .

The selected engineer will work with the architecture, systems engineering, and test teams to develop a cohesive model-based architecture supporting the total system lifecycle, participate in technical reviews, and provide customer support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support requirements allocation and flow down.
  • Coordination & collaboration with the System Engineering team
  • Support trade studies.
  • Evaluation of functional and performance requirements.
  • Define and build the requirements architecture model using MBSE methodologies.
  • Define verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements.
  • Support allocation of lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements.
  • Support a team of engineers to create, mature and present comprehensive and cohesive technical charts representative of the appropriate level of maturation for any given milestone meeting and demonstrating team readiness in relation to achieving the milestone entrance and exit criteria.
  • Identifying required contractual deliverables and non-contractual documentation aligned to the test organization.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with diverse engineering design teams to assist in managing the technical baseline.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This requisition is a duel level and may be filled at either as a Systems Engineer or Principal systems Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications:
Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 0 years of engineering experience.

Principal Systems Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of relevant engineering experience or a Master's Degree and 3 years of engineering experience or 0 years with PhD.

Both Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer

  • Active DoD Secret level clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with system/subsystem integration, test, and verification.
  • Experience with Engineering Requirements Management Tools (i.e. DOORS).
  • Experience with MBSE Management Tools (i.e. Cameo, Rhapsody).

Salary Range: $71,100 USD - $106,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
