The Northrop Grumman Next Gen Polar (NGP) OPIR program is looking for a Systems Engineer to work on a team to develop the NGP Telemetry, Tracking, & Control (TT&C) subsystem. The TT&C is a ground software system component that commands the space vehicle and its payloads, and processes the telemetry for immediate automated and human responses to health and safety status. TT&C and NGP as a whole is essential to support Missile Warning missions.
NGP is currently in the early stages, before the Preliminary Design Review (PDR). Therefore minimal code prototypes are being developed, the focus is primarily on requirements and design. Blended agile scrum teams are used, where Software and Systems Engineers work collaboratively in a single unified team. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of work outside your title as Systems Engineer if desired, and will be required to directly support Stories which are below the typical Systems Engineering layer of design and requirements.
The candidate will have the opportunity to design, document, and test, software to run on a customer specified target framework. The candidate will ensure that the developed software is effective and takes into consideration performance and security implications. As stated above, we will employ agile development and employ DevSecOps technologies. Must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, ability to interface with other groups within the project including distributed teams, well-developed problem solving skills, and ability to work within a dynamic environment. Works well under general direction. Determines and develops technical solutions to complex problems independently.

Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
