    Position summary

    support NM's compliance with developing regulatory requirements applicable to use of artificial intelligence, algorithms, and models, as a member of the Enterprise Risk Management & Resiliency department's model governance program accountability. Plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation through completion. Secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. Manages projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

    What you will do:

    • Support Northwestern Mutual Enterprise Risk Management & Resiliency model governance accountability by advising business areas across the enterprise on actions necessary to maintain and mature their policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements related to artificial intelligence, algorithms, and models.

    • Design and manage complex projects to ensure Company preparedness to comply with new and developing regulatory requirements related to artificial intelligence, algorithms, and models in collaboration with Data Science & Analytics, Law, Privacy, Compliance, and other business partners .

    • Perform risk assessment and impact analysis of new or updated regulatory requirements from state or federal laws and regulations for business areas across the enterprise.

    • Collaborate with business areas across the enterprise to influence outcomes of changes to policies, procedures and technology solutions designed to ensure compliance with regulations applicable to artificial intelligence, algorithms, and models, and focus on managing risk.

    • Support the development of and enhancement of the Company's artificial intelligence and model risk management frameworks and policies, and consult and collaborate with all lines of defense on developing and maintaining controls that align to these frameworks and policies and applicable regulations.

    • Develop, implement and maintain second line resources and controls and/or assess, make recommendations, and document second line oversight to further mitigate risk.

    • Advocate for culture of compliance by leveraging relationships with business leadership to proactively identify training, education and communication needs.

    • Support other Enterprise Risk Management & Resiliency initiatives as needed.

    • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in, Business, Project Management or related field preferred OR a significant amount of directly-related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position.

    • Minimum 5 years experience/knowledge in processes and project management to include analysis, documentation.

    • Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-department or multi-department projects

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large and highly complex assignments.

    • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

    • Seen as a team player and is supportive of group decisions and ideas.

    • Written and oral communications skills with the ability to build rapport within the company, field and /or outside vendors.

    • High degree of personal initiative and motivation.

    • Degree with a project management emphasis or PMI certification preferred

    • Experience with project methodology through project life cycle phases

    • Preference for familiarity with AI and model risk management, AI and data analytic modeling techniques, and relevant risk management frameworks (e.g., Fed SR 11-7, NIST AI Risk Management Framework).

    Compensation Range:

    Pay Range - Start:

    $73,570.00

    Pay Range - End:

    $136,630.00
