We are actively seeking an upbeat, innovative Business Data Analyst to join Northwestern Mutual’s CX Strategy - Data team. We are looking for an individual who has experience in developing requirements at both a systems & data level. The ideal candidate will be able to operate in ambiguous situations, think laterally, and make decisions in a data-driven manner.

What's this role?

The CX Strategy - Data – Business Data Analyst works collaboratively with team members and key partners to perform analysis at a process, system, and data levels to advance the experiences of our clients, field, and home office. The focus of this work will be around the collection, maintenance, and availability of our client data through our 5 client journeys. This role sits at the intersection of experience design, product planning, and enterprise data to help us strategize and plan for a cohesive, differentiated experiences and journeys.

Key focus areas include:

• Partner with team members to provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis documentation on the client data lifecycle by continually thinking about the efficient and effective use of data for all experiences.

• Support the build out of current and future state data lineages by partnering with key team members (e.g., product, core data, engineering, design, etc.) to see opportunities for data remediation across platforms.

• Document process and data flows to enable discussions about current and future state. Perform analysis of potential solutions against business requirements.

• Perform data analysis, data profiling, and identify data remediation opportunities across systems and platforms

• Assists leadership in developing project milestones and backlog for defined solutions. As needed, facilitates project coordination and support of status reporting on initiatives.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

Business Data Analysis Expertise : 3+ years of business and data analysis. Experience in documenting business processes and data flows. Responsible for documenting, reviewing and validating requirements collected within the team and communicating the requirements into experiences.

Data-driven decision-maker : Consistently demonstrates the ability to use data, insights, and information to drive practical results that move the needle for the organization.

Communication Skills : Ability to offer compelling storytelling, from a data perspective, across key collaborators; ability to create presentations for a wide-variety of audiences. Talent for cultivating and maintaining relationships with team members while aligning on disparate points of view.

Problem-solver : Thrives to find solutions to difficult or complex problems in a structured, hypothesis driven manner.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities : Expertise in development and application of data analytical tools such as DDL, JSON, XML, SQL, MS Excel, MS Access

Minimum of 3 years of work experience:  Specifically supporting data initiatives

Education : Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.
