Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Apply engineering best practices in-order-to analyze, design, develop, deploy, and support software solutions, and/or implementations/upgrades infrastructure
Develop software and systems on test driven development and continuous integration practices
Support third party vendor software, including configuration, upgrades, patches, and enhancements
Participate in writing and developing tools to meet given specifications and defined tasks
Familiar with relevant programing languages
Support a 24 X 7 environment
Escalate issues as appropriate
Able to move between diverse tasks and roles with cooperation and persistence, helping to bring out the best in those around you for your user’s experience
Proactively monitor to prevent and resolve application system issues/incidents
Proactively ensure SLAs are maintained and systems are built for sustainability
Understand the technical concepts necessary to do your job effectively and are aware of industry trends in your domain
Consider and build for many different use cases but avoid over engineering
Determine where to find answers and grow your own knowledge both with and without guidance
Exhibit technical curiosity; technical requirements/platforms will vary according to the role
Exhibit accountable for high quality, value driven work that drives business outcomes
Place the user in the center of decision making teams collaborates for speed, agility, and innovation
Embrace continuous learning, is curious, embraces ambiguity, voices opinions
Take personal accountability
Requirements:
Solid working knowledge of z systems, JCL, TSO, ISPF, and programing
Experience with third party vendor software support
Experience with using SDLC product life cycle
Experience with IBM developer for z system
Experience with developing/maintaining automated solutions
Experience with and embraces Lean-Agile principles/DevOps environment
• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements
• Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams to drive
business outcomes
Excellent troubleshooting skills within area of expertise
Excellent communication/mentoring skills
Understanding of Continuous Availability concepts
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
10+ years professional experience required
Nice to have
• Programming: REXX, ISPF Panels, PL/1, COBOL
Experience working with Changeman
Experience with multiple delivery methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid
