The Opportunity:

The Flow team at Nutanix is looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong technical background to help build our cloud networking & security initiatives. Engineering managers are expected to provide technical leadership for major projects and manage a team of talented and motivated engineers. You will lead your team to design and deliver highly scalable Software Defined Networking & Security services. You will play an active role in defining product strategy, driving architectural decisions, and managing your project goals. You will be collaborating with engineering teams across the company in areas such as networking, security, compute and storage orchestration, telemetry, user experience and user interface design, application orchestration, and infrastructure engineering. As a manager, you are expected to guide your team in developing scalable solutions that are delivered in a timely fashion.

About Nutanix Flow:

Nutanix Flow is a Software Defined Network and Security product suite that provides a simplified way to create and manage application centric policies to enable security administrators to govern their business applications and environments independent of the physical infrastructure.

Nutanix Flow Network Security delivers advanced micro-segmentation and security services that allow enterprises to gain visibility, enforce and monitor granular control of their enterprise applications.

Your Role:**

• Deliver a best in class Software Defined Security Stack leveraging open source components & Nutanix platform services
• Manage complex technical aspects of product and execute efficiently by collaborating with different cross functional teams to achieve the business goals
• Hire, coach, and grow a high performing team of talented engineers with diverse skill-sets
• Plan engineering deliverables as Sprint plans, allocate resources, drive QA automation and manage the delivery risks
• Constantly refine the delivery, release, automation and development processes to increase productivity of engineering team
• Participate in architecture, technical designs, code reviews and shape product strategy
• Provide leadership and be highly execution focused to deliver faster releases with high quality
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to fast paced business environment

**
What you'll bring:**

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• 10+ Years of experience with min 3+ Years of engineering management experience

• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Good experience in to building clustered, high-performance and fault-tolerant distributed applications

• Experience developing and deploying software defined networking, application security & firewall solutions at scale

• Understanding of TCP-IP Suite of protocols (Ethernet, VLAN, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, DNS) and Web technologies - HTTP/HTTPS, RESTful API, JSON, Protobuf

• Understanding of various UI technologies and experience with UI development

• Conversant with any of the programming languages: HTML/CSS/Javascript, Python, GoLang, C++

• Proven ability to work with distributed teams across different time zones

• Plus: Experience with large scale distributed management software

• Plus: Experience with data networks, network security, advanced firewalls

• Plus: Experience with OVN, OVS & OpenDaylight etc.
