    This position is located in Solon OH, and will report directly to the environmental, health and safety (EHS) director.

Be a champion for change through the development, maintenance and execution EHS programs to provide a safe and sustainable work environment while maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations.

    WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

    • Facilitate EHS objectives by providing clear and continuous direction.

    • Maintain strong shop floor presence and be considered a key point of contact for safety, health and environmental related inquiries.

    • Apply proactive safety methodology and deploy improvements as needed.

    • Monitor applicable EHS regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts; provide operations leadership information as appropriate.

    • Manage environmental processes to ensure nVent and regulatory requirements are met in relation to waste management, water discharge & air permitting obligations.

    • Coordinate and engage plant personnel and other personnel in the identification, development and implementation of EHS goals which will positively impact and contribute to the organization.

    • Manage EHS documents, vendor contract and permit administration.

    • Assist with workers compensation cases, working with human resources and legal teams.

    • Facilitate the incident reporting process and participate in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

    • Facilitate required EHS training to ensure all regulatory and company obligations are met.

    • Identify needed support from outside consultants, develop scope of work and manage issuance of contracts or permits as needed.

    • Coordinate behavior based safety and ergonomic improvement activities.

    YOU HAVE:

    • Academic background in Industrial Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental. Experience may be substituted.

    • 7+ years of progressive experience leading safety and/or environmental management systems and processes preferred.

    • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting.

    • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and the ability to apply such in the manufacturing setting.

    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with knowledge of Lean methodologies.

    • Ability to influence prioritization of activities to maintain compliance.
