Product Certifications Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Be the point person for obtaining all required product certifications such as UL, CSA AEx/ATEX/IECEx/UKEx, for nVent products to have maximum global reach
• Use your knowledge and experience as a member of our dynamic cross-functional project teams bringing new products to market with the proper certifications and supporting changes to existing products that require certification updates.
• Support internal and external certification audits, maintain inspection records, and collaborate with the appropriate departments to resolve variances
• Participate in the ever changing and challenging Standards Development arena.
• Educate both internal and external audiences on Standards and Certification requirements through training and technical papers
• Ensure nVent products continue to meet and exceed certification performance and construction requirements
• Be part of an energetic and collaborative Product Approvals team covering three business segments of nVent (Enclosures, Thermal, Electrical Fastening)

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor’s Degree or other relevant experience in a similar discipline
• Ideally 5+ years’ of relevant experience.
• Experience working with external certification agencies, such as UL, CSA, Intertek, or FM.
• Familiarity with Global Hazardous area certifications such as Class & Division, AEx, ATEX and IECEx is a plus.
• Experience in process improvement through implementation of Digital Solutions an asset
• Excellent Project Management skills
• Strong verbal, writing and negotiation skills
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestic, 5% international
