Business Segment Overview
Designers and installers of electrical systems rely on nVent for industry-proven, globally compliant fastening and facility electrical protection systems. nVent's electrical and fastening solutions are comprised of outstanding engineered products for specialized electrical, mechanical and concrete applications.
nVent ERICO offers components for electrical protection, rail and transit connectivity, telecom installation, and utility and industrial facility electrical installation systems. The nVent CADDY brand includes fixing, fastening and support products for electrical installation, seismic and fire protection, data communications and heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. We also offer nVent ERIFLEX low-voltage, space-saving power and grounding connections for electrical panels and nVent LENTON engineered products for concrete reinforcing steel connections.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
3rd Shift: 10p-6:30a Sun-Thur
To set up, adjust, maintain and efficiently operate laser systems and manual, NC, CNC Presses and Cutting machines. Use computerized manufacturing technologies to lead and guide the initial phase of the fabrication process.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
o Uses computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to meet production and customer requirements.
o Performs set-up duties on fabrication equipment and the safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
o Positions production materials and tooling and maintains proper dimensions according to print specifications.
o Operates and adjusts various equipment, including controllers, and edits programs according to production documentation.
o Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
o Stays in sync with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource.
o Ensures that products and systems meet Hoffman quality standards.
o Inspects work to ensure proper dimensional requirements are met per prints.
o Performs specified preventative maintenance procedures, and assists Maintenance and outside sources with trouble-shooting systems.
o Takes action and notifies appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, etc.
o Participates actively as a team member through continuous improvement activities to meet customer needs.
o Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
o May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
o High School Diploma or G.E.D.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
o Knowledge of all operations of the assigned production process required
o Knowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.
o Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving
o Skill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications
o Ability to read and understand blue prints.
o Fork truck licensed or ability to obtain one.
o Ability to lift, slide and shake heavy gauges of material.
o Ability to read and use measuring equipment (i.e. tape measure, caliper)
o Ability to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Production Supervisor.
o Ability to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
o Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
o Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance
