Job Description
The Senior Manager will oversee the Strategic Planning and Development of all medical communications, including scientific publications within scope of assigned therapeutic area.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to facilitating the strategic publication planning process scientific communications team and an assigned cross-functional team for each asset/indication within scope.
Additionally, the senior manager (publication lead) will oversee the consistent, accurate, and timely development of global scientific platforms and lexicons.
Additional responsibilities include participation in all strategic asset planning meetings, develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, editorial review of documents, oversight of document tracking in Datavision and with the agencies, and assisting with reporting and monitoring processes.
The senior manager will assure consistency and readability with all publication plans and platforms and that they are up-to-date and usable.
The Senior Manager will be viewed as a publication professional with great understanding of GPP3 and ICMJE to foster compliant development of accurate and timely publications.
The Senior Manager will serve as an SME on Industry Best Practice in Global Scientific Communications for GMA, the team, and our customers and help develop a Strategic Medical Communications Plan that translates the strong scientific messages, based on the evidence, is pulled through all multi-channel medical communications, such as symposia, presence at scientific and medical conferences, etc.
These activities will support the Global Medical Affairs plans and Otsuka organizational objectives.
Qualifications/ Required
Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:
5+ yrs experience in publication planning and development in a pharmaceutical environment required
Ability to critically analyze and interpret data
Ability to understand and comply with all regulations established by PHRMA, FDA, OIG, and ICJME
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must be well organized and able to multi-task
Prioritizes workload and makes an accurate determination of timeframe for project completion
Effectively communicates with team members and stakeholders regarding the planning and development of all sci comm deliverables, including the management of agency partners and the associated budgets
Ability to travel 25% to cover team meetings, and conferences
