We are seeking a passionate Art Director or Visual Design Lead with expertise in visual design, art direction, digital design, and branding. You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director, Sr. Art Director, Content Designers and Design Technologist to drive the visual direction of our digital experience. As a Visual Design Lead or Art Director at Peapod Digital Labs, you are at the forefront of the most dynamic space of creative thinking. You build beautiful, user-centric design that elevates the brand experience, as well as the overall visual design standard. You will never be tired of learning new things and thrive in a highly collaborative environment.

This role is a hands-on design role, able to execute production-ready assets. Our creative team is embedded in a large, established product design group. You will also have opportunities to partner with UX designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers to work on a wide range of projects.

Recipe for success - what’s in store for this role:

• A passion for beautiful design and strong attention to detail
• Excellent hands-on visual design skills using tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe suite
• Partner with Creative Director and peers to evolve brand design systems (I.e., font, color, icon, illustrations, etc)
• Evolve existing visual design standards and styles in collaboration with UX designers
• Provide visual directions for website, native app, email, or social campaign
• Develop creative assets as it relates to product visual design and interactive design
• Provide art direction and support across creatives within our brand partners
• Able to participate in brainstorming sessions that promote innovative solutions, creative concepts, and brand explorations for online channels
• Maintain up-to-date design trends, patterns and technologies, and serve as a creative powerhouse that constantly inspires others

The essentials in your cart - The required ingredients:

• A strong portfolio that demonstrates your creative thinking and design aesthetics
• BS, BFA or BA major in design, graphic design, art direction, or advertising. Having experience in UX or interaction design is a plus
• 5+ years of relevant experience in visual design, graphic design, or UX
• Have experience designing for digital (I.e., banner, website, app, social media, etc.)

• Strong illustration or vector-based design skills

• Experience of working on video or social media content

• Strong presentation and storytelling skills that lead to persuasion and influence

• Experience evolving or building a brand in your career

• Experience designing for e-commerce or grocery industry
