    Position summary

    • Design robust data architectures taking into account performance, data quality, and data latency requirements

    • Ability to recommend and drive consensus around preferred data integration approaches

    • Ability to anticipate data bottlenecks (latency, quality, speed) and recommend appropriate remediation strategies

    • Ensure on time and on budget delivery which satisfies project requirements, while adhering to enterprise architecture standards.

    • Manage work intake, prioritization and release timing; balancing demand and available resources. Ensure tactical initiatives are aligned with the strategic vision and business needs

    • Manage partnership with vendors

    • Lead a team of employee and contract resources to meet data engineering requirements:

    o Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion

    o Coordinate work activities with other IT services and business teams.

    o Hold team accountable for milestone deliverables

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Management, or related field

    • 10 + years' experience in Information Technology

    • 8 + years' experience in Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and related technologies

    • 5+ years experience with Azure, AWS, other cloud data capabilities

    • Python, R, and related data processing/manipulation skills

    • Experience with automating end to end data flows to ensure timeliness and accuracy of data

    • Automated testing/scripting experience

    • Experience with modern data engineering principles, pipeline engineering, etc.

    • DevOps expertise to orchestrate robust end to end data flows

    • Data modeling, harmonization experience required

    • Data virtualization experience using Denodo or similar capability

    • Advanced data modeling or database experience; experience with ER/Studio and/or Erwin modeling tools

    • Experience with advanced data wrangling capabilities desired

    • Thorough knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data catalog tools (Alation)

    • Experience engineering and building high performance data pipelines from multiple transactional systems

    • Excellent remote collaboration skills

    • Experience working in a matrix organization with diverse priorities

    • Experience dealing with and managing multiple vendors

    • Solutions Delivery experience - expertise in system development lifecycle, integration, and sustainability

    • Minimum 2-3 years' experience leading complex projects

    • Proven experience in managing Data, BI or Analytics projects

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with collaboration and listening skills

    • Ability to work with agile delivery methodologies

    • Ability to ideate requirements & design iteratively with business partners without formal requirements documentation

    • Ability to budget resources and funding to meet project deliverables

    • Strong project & resource management skills

    • Ability to work with virtual teams (remote work locations); lead team of technical resources (employees and contractors) based in multiple global locations

    • Lead technical discussions, driving clarity of complex issues/requirements to build robust solutions

    • Strong communication skills to meet with delivery teams and business-facing teams, understand sometimes ambiguous, needs, and translate to clear, aligned requirements
