    Position summary

    Overview

    Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation & Engineering is seeking a Controls & Information Systems Senior Engineer to define strategy for plant automation and system integration

    Responsibilities

    • Define controls and IT scope of processing, packaging, and/or material handling systems to meet functional and business requirements.

    • Lead cross-functional reviews of electrical design, controls configuration, and functional specification documentation, provided by external vendors.

    • Assess new IT/OT technology and develop integration strategies to pilot and commercialize.

    • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

    • Prepare bid packages for system integrators and equipment manufacturers.

    • Provide direction to diverse groups such as IT, external vendors, and plant resources.

    • Develop reporting and visualization tools to improve operations performance.

    • Define system validation requirements, develop validation documentation, generate and execute test protocols.

    • Provide on-site start-up engineering support during line commissioning.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience

    • 5+ years experience in Controls Engineering, Robotics, Systems Integration, or Machine Design

    • Consumer Packaged Goods experience with a focus on automation and control systems

    • Ability to reduce complex problems to a simple set of solutions

    • Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively

    • Superior team building skills to work with all levels of the organization

    • Knowledge of industrial networks, controls software, and MES

    • Project management skills

    • Ability to travel 30%

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hands on experience with material handling systems (Palletizing, Conveyance, Sortation, & ASRS)

    • Hands on experience with functional safety systems (GuardLogix Safety PLC and/or hardwired safety)

    • Hands on experience with primary & secondary packaging equipment (VFFS, Case Packing, Palletizing)

    • Hands on robotics experience (Kawasaki or Yaskawa)

    • Development & troubleshooting experience with Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, or Yaskawa PLC's

    • Experience with SCADA & DCS systems (Wonderware, AVEVA OMI, GE Proficy)
