Overview
Frito-Lay Supply Chain Transformation & Engineering is seeking a Controls & Information Systems Senior Engineer to define strategy for plant automation and system integration
Responsibilities
Define controls and IT scope of processing, packaging, and/or material handling systems to meet functional and business requirements.
Lead cross-functional reviews of electrical design, controls configuration, and functional specification documentation, provided by external vendors.
Assess new IT/OT technology and develop integration strategies to pilot and commercialize.
Manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Prepare bid packages for system integrators and equipment manufacturers.
Provide direction to diverse groups such as IT, external vendors, and plant resources.
Develop reporting and visualization tools to improve operations performance.
Define system validation requirements, develop validation documentation, generate and execute test protocols.
Provide on-site start-up engineering support during line commissioning.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years experience in Controls Engineering, Robotics, Systems Integration, or Machine Design
Consumer Packaged Goods experience with a focus on automation and control systems
Ability to reduce complex problems to a simple set of solutions
Ability to communicate technical and business information effectively
Superior team building skills to work with all levels of the organization
Knowledge of industrial networks, controls software, and MES
Project management skills
Ability to travel 30%
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with material handling systems (Palletizing, Conveyance, Sortation, & ASRS)
Hands on experience with functional safety systems (GuardLogix Safety PLC and/or hardwired safety)
Hands on experience with primary & secondary packaging equipment (VFFS, Case Packing, Palletizing)
Hands on robotics experience (Kawasaki or Yaskawa)
Development & troubleshooting experience with Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, or Yaskawa PLC's
Experience with SCADA & DCS systems (Wonderware, AVEVA OMI, GE Proficy)
