    Position summary

    Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Understanding productivity opportunities - these opportunities include value engineering, improvements in throughput, yield and sustainability without compromising quality, product design or consumer acceptability

    • Development and execution of project plans to quantify and develop identified opportunities, working in conjunction with cross functional partners to execute critical plans will provide opportunities to build project management skill. Productivity opportunities span many functions, such as Operations, Purchasing, and Ops Finance as well as across sectors and regions.

    • Application of sound science principles to address technical challenges - Most productivity problems are resolved through the correct application of basic Food Science and Engineering principles.

    • Design and execute experiments utilizing the scientific methods, analyze and interpret data to make sound technical recommendations on productivity opportunities.

    • Perform fundamental economic evaluations on ingredients, ingredient suppliers, and product formulations.

    • Communication of Results - Results and recommendations will be shared both written and verbally within the productivity team and with the productivity leadership.

    • Build technical leadership, while partnering with a team of R&D technical resources.

    • Gain experience and knowledge on multiple brands and processes

    • Learn business principles which define project successes.

    • Provide updates to the team and productivity leadership

    You will develop:

    • Technical skills in applying food science and engineering principles to solve new problems

    • Process and Product knowledge in multiple core brands

    • People leadership skills by collaborating with individuals in other functions

    • Collaboration and influence skills through interaction with cross-functional teams

    • Financial analysis skills for assessing the value of projects

    • Understanding of Analytical and Sensory tools to evaluate results and project success.

    Qualifications

    • Excel/Word/MS Outlook - proficiency with Microsoft office applications

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Engineering

    • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in the food industry

    • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals and objectives

    • Proven ability to make significant technical scientific advances utilizing internal and/or external resources

    • Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions

    • The ability and interest to work in laboratory, pilot plant and manufacturing scale environments

    • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments/ tasks
