PepsiCo's R&D Productivity and Technical Brand Stewardship team is responsible for delivering a strategic supply assurance & productivity program, aimed at delighting customers & consumers with innovative and engaging consumer experiences. We drive brand quality improvement & productivity programs to meet our short- & long-term growth aspirations. Responsibilities
Functional Description:
PepsiCo Packaging R&D is seeking a creative and energetic Engineer to lead projects and drive an exciting agenda within the Carbonated Soft Drink and Hydration Portfolio that handles brands such as Pepsi, Mt. Dew, Starry, Bubly, Aquafina and LifeWTR. Focus is to deliver packaging technical leadership in executing supply assurance, capacity expansion initiatives, driving short- & long-term productivity through various lightweight & value engineering initiatives without compromising quality & meeting consumer demand, in the existing package forms & designs, across a wide range of package materials and structures (cans, bottles, closures, cartons, and flexible etc.) used in line with business unit strategies. Some of your responsibilities will include:
Manage end-to-end Packaging R&D activities, including technical project management, project scoping, budget management, and supplier liaison.
Maintain, update, and create packaging specifications and protocols
Conducting stability testing, lab testing, data-pack review & decision making & guide team for the next steps
Operational support to Manufacturing and Engineering (troubleshooting, quality improvement, line efficiency improvement, variances/concessions, input into CAPEX projects)
Packaging Expertise, experience with PET and HDPE materials, aluminum, paperboard, and glass.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills; Ability to influence cross functional teams, in multiple locations around the globe
Critical Competencies:

Qualifications
BS Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science & Materials, Polymers, Plastics, or Packaging Engineering or equivalent with minimum 2+ years' experience in related consumer goods field
Strong communication skills and presentation skills in technical & non-technical environment
Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points and managing project budgets and spending
Must be able to manage multiple projects, timelines and budgets in fast paced environment
In-depth understanding of various packaging materials, machinery, converting technologies
Good understanding of R&D and product development disciplines, as well as regulatory requirements is desirable.
Experience working with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies is a plus
Experience with hot fill, cold fill, retort, and aseptic packaging is a plus.
30% domestic travel
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $67,200 - $112,450 based on a full-time schedule
Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 5% paid out Annually
Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement
