PepsiCo is on the lookout for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Cork on a permanent basis.
We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo's mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. Role Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this is a central role based in Ireland. The key focus will be supporting the delivery of global strategic capital projects to support the capacity, BCP (Business Continuity Plan) and infrastructure for the concentrate business across multiple global sites.
This role is focused on delivering excellence and ensuring global best practice in PGCS global projects execution and in accordance with regulatory controls & PepsiCo policies. Key challenges will be balancing the delivery of the projects within budget and schedule, against the resources available and challenging operating priorities, within a complex business global model and variable business dynamics arising from broad and varying demands.
Primary Accountabilities
Support the implementation of project management best practice including PM procedures, risk management, change control, communications, tracking & performance metrics required to deliver the strategic capital projects for the global sites
Support a globally diverse group of engineers in their execution of key Strategic Capital projects required to deliver key business critical initiatives including capacity, infrastructure, and business continuity planning (BCP), by providing project management best practice methodologies and controls protocols
Support key decision making relating to project schedule and cost issues
Responsible for delivering the engineering and procurement standards, including technical and commercial aspects, supplier relationships and performance managements of the key capital projects
Responsible for the budget and the schedule of the capital projects
Responsible for the adherence to project governance protocols and the compliance with project controls in accordance with company policies
Develop and leverage best practices from PepsiCo divisions as well as from other industries to deliver world class performance in project implementation and construction management globally
Lead value management exercises as required across a diverse range of projects and locations
Lead the delivery of key projects as required, according to highest standards of EHS, quality, cost and schedule
Support the communications planning and flow of information from projects through to the Governance/Steering teams and the wider stakeholder network. Escalation of risks and changes as required.
Lead and/ or support the identification and resolution of project issues
Support the development of Business cases and Capex documents for strategic projects
OPEX budget control and management at a program level
Support set up of organisation and reporting structures for new strategic projects
Support the development of project capital and opex cashflow forecasting and cashflow tracking/reporting
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
Min 5 to 7 years process industry experience in engineering with additional operations or maintenance exposure and extensive capital project management experience
Degree qualification in Chemical, Process, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Proven track record in delivering large capital projects in a global and diverse environment
Extensive Experience required in the following areas:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proven ability to work at all levels in an international organization
Additional Desired Skills/Experiences
A Strategic leadership mind-set capability (need to build the business case and present at the highest levels in PepsiCo) is desirable
Highly developed influencing skills required to manage various stakeholders
