Provides ongoing network support, addresses availability issues, overcomes performance problems and provides overall customer support. Designs, installs, maintains and coordinates the use of network systems. Evaluates hardware and software and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks. Manages network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets needed requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network. Reports on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution. Trains users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts. Maintains and updates system security plans on all platforms. Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards. Enforces network security procedures.
Ideal person will assist in on-going re-accredidation efforts for an operational customer network. In additoin, you will assist in the design/implementation of a new data network to replace what is currently in use.
Network support is a high visibility need to customer in what is a dynamic work environment. The candidate will be responsible for periodic updates on network status and maintenance schedules. There is potential for travel CONUS/OCONUS for install/maintenance/decommissioning of equipment.
The ideal person will also work to resolve functinality concerns with end users in various work locations both CONUS/OCONUS.
Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
Clearance required: TS/SCI with Poly
Candidate should have some familiarity with:
- Web Service Technology such as AWs, Azure, or the like
- Network Server/Router Configuration Protocols (Cisco, etc)
