Automation Support Engineer Utilities (intern)

Department Marketing Statement:

• The utilities department is responsible for, air groups and the supply of various (clean) gases, (clean) waters, (clean ) steam as well as electricity to the factories in Puurs. 
• Currently we are operating  +1000 centralized automated equipment’s

Role / Tasks:

• You will join the team that  will be responsible for supporting all automation systems used by the utilities department. More specifically, it concerns various building automation as well as SCADA/PLC platforms. 

• As a 2nd line support you investigate operational problems in more depth, you define possible causes (root-causes) and define improvement projects. You carry out these projects yourself, or you guide a subcontractor in the implementation on a project basis. 

• For current projects, carried out by the engineering  department, you are an important stakeholder.  You participate in design reviews and "challenge" proposed automation concepts and solutions.  You adjust the projects where necessary and defend the interests of the utilities department to obtain a system that meets the operational requirements.

Profile / Qualifications:

• Master Degree automation ; experience is desirable, but motivated school leaver  is certainly eligible. 
• It goes without saying that the following characteristics: eagerness to learn, accuracy, flexibility, insight, planning,  ownership , strong in teamwork but independence, ... are necessary to be able to complete this assignment properly

De Pfizer site in Puurs is één van de grootste productie- en verpakkingssites van Pfizer wereldwijd, gespecialiseerd in aseptische productie en verpakking. Jaarlijks worden in Puurs meer dan 400 miljoen doses injecteerbare vaccins en medicijnen geproduceerd. Deze zijn ter plaatse verpakt in ampullen, flacons, plastic flessen, spuiten en patronen voor pennen. 

De medicijnen die in Puurs worden gemaakt, zijn bestemd voor patiënten in meer dan 170 landen wereldwijd. 30% van de productie uit Puurs is bestemd voor ontwikkelingslanden, in samenwerking met UNICEF, WHO, GAVI en ngo's. 

Met het gebruik van twee windturbines, zonnepanelen en een warmtekrachtcentrale richten we ons op hernieuwbare energie.
