What You Will Achieve

Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering team, you will play a critical part in managing the maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance, and repair of utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment.

Your prior work experience and ability to apply your breadth of knowledge will help you adapt the standard methods and procedures. You will help us identify required delivery and process improvements that drive increased efficiency, throughput and quality. You will arrive at decisions on which methods and procedures are the best fit for different work situations.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Position is responsible for:

  • Manage mid sized projects related to maintenance/calibration equipment improvements

  • Troubleshooting and repair of Electrical, Mechanical, Automation equipment and systems at the highest level

  • Support production automation including troubleshooting PLC code and providing Delta V and database support.

  • Provide oversite for process equipment, Clean utilities and HVAC systems.

  • Perform duties in a safe manner with a focus on Zero Injuries

  • Follow all SOP and cGMP requirements

  • Assist with performing corrective maintenance activities on equipment in support of the continuous operation of the Sanford facility, including manufacturing, utilities and quality control equipment/systems

  • Assist with perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities for GMP equipment

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner utilizing DMAIC techniques

  • Document all work order activities in EAMS and relevant equipment logs

  • Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings

  • Assist with the end of shift turn over process

  • Assist/Participate with continuous improvement activities

  • Lead and/or participate in continuous improvement activities

  • Occasionally lead small teams to support troubleshooting or continuous improvement activities.

  • Perform end of shift turn over process.

  • Lead continuous improvement activities (start to completion)

  • Positions will provide direction and coordination to other maintenance technicians in the absence of management.

  • Provide off-shift and on call support when necessary.

  • Perform as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an assigned area/skill set.

  • Complete final reviews of work orders for completion in the EAMS system.

  • Support engineering projects:

    • select and install appropriate equipment - Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
    • Support project needs, SME

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Minimum of AAS degree in Mechanical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, industrial technology or related field of study with at least 10 years of experience working with equipment maintenance in a cGMP environment, or equivalent.
  • A HS diploma with 15 years of relevant experience is also acceptable.

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Pharmaceutical and/or Bio-Pharmaceutical experience and knowledge of {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} operations

  

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Positions requirements are typical for a manufacturing plant-based work environment with significant shop floor exposure.  Routine lifting, sitting, standing, walking and bending is required. Specific PPE requirements, including clean room gowning, which is frequently required. There are no unusual mental requirements for this position.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Primary shift hours are day shift M-F but must be flexible to work overtime and occasional weekends.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
