POSTING: Manager, Operations (Activation, Grassroots, USGR Leadership Team)
ROLE SUMMARY
The Manager, Operations, Activation/Grassroots/USGR Leadership Team is responsible for initiating and managing a range of activation projects to favorably influence the public policy environment in support of Pfizer's business objectives. Working with the Director of U.S. Government Relations Operations and Sr. Director, Activation, the Operations Manager will manage internal and external advocacy campaigns in coordination and collaboration with all Government Relations-related functions within Corporate Affairs to ensure alignment and execution on key policy priorities.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide operational support for the Vice President, US Government Relations, US Government Relations Leadership Team
- Provide operational support for Internal and External Activation Teams; help manage internal and external activation activities, third-party grant requests and mobilizations
- Track and prepare regular reports as needed regarding Activation & Grassroots activities
- Interact on a regular basis with key internal audiences on behalf of Vice President, US Government Relations and Director, USGR Operations
- Manage relationships and liaise with former USGR colleagues now reporting to Chief Patient Officer
- Plan and implement biannual USGR meetings plus other ad hoc USGR-wide or functional meetings (SGR, FGR, Activation, Grassroots, Tax and PAC)
- Represent Pfizer Activation/Grassroots at internal and external meetings as needed
- Identify project needs for various cross-functional corporate affairs teams as needed
- Source and manage critical patient testimonials through collaboration with Pfizer Activation (e.g. Ready for Cures, Pfizer Grassroots, Pfizer RxPathways, Philanthropy teams, et al) in alignment with Pfizer's federal and state activation/policy priorities
- Assist PAC/USGR Operations lead at various internal and external meetings to ensure execution of USGR fundraising goals and operational excellence.
- Provide support to USGR colleagues representing Pfizer at key trade associations at the federal level
- Collaborate with Pfizer Digital team to identify activation needs, develop and execute plan that leverages digital expertise to pull-through advocacy needs (social listening, Pfizer newsletter to external audiences, working with third party vendors to build out capabilities, etc.)
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of experience
- Demonstrated experience in commercial / customer facing roles across the business
- Knowledge of the workings of pharmaceutical manufacturing, and associated processes Experience working in Pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} environment
- Familiarity with Pharmaceutical Sciences infrastructure
- Pro-active and has a creative, entrepreneurial attitude with evidence of ability to execute key projects
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computer and software applications
Nice-to-Have
- Master's degree
- Specific experience managing pharmaceutical/technical/medical devices projects and/or clinical programs
- Knowledge and certification of operational excellence methodologies (Six Sigma and Lean etc.)
