    What You Will Achieve

    This position is a leader for Injectable Manufacturing.  The scope of the position includes 10-20 direct reports and may include IMEx professionals and shop floor colleagues of several different job titles, with responsibilities for 24x7 operation across three shifts.

    This position defines, manages, tracks, and reports on the ~$10 MM unit monthly budget.  Includes preparation of yearly budget and definition of manpower and equipment utilization expected to meet supply chain requirements for the department.

    This leader defines the vision for the team’s products, creates team and product road maps based on this vision, and manages the product backlog and prioritizes them based on changing business requirements and ensuring a safe and compliant culture.

    Ensures cost effective activities/programs are implemented in compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, practices, and processes.  Fosters a cross functional collaborative environment as well as colleague development, as well as change management, within the department and the function. 

    Leadership of Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx) Process Centric Team (PCT) roles for one or more teams based on unit needs.  IMEx is the Pfizer system for implementing standard work, 5S, visual management (VM), continuous improvement (CI), and total predictive maintenance (TPM) in one combined program.  PCT leadership includes setting unit goals, CI project prioritization, TPM implementation and execution and VM tools across the PCT teams and shifts. 

    How You Will Achieve It

    This manager position is responsible for leadership of an injectable manufacturing organization PCT.  Includes supportive leadership of the hiring and staffing planning for the area across three shifts including budget, tracking, and training plans and reports.

    Responsible for effective leadership of work team which includes: Support managing the daily operation, ensuring that applicable safety guidelines and policies are followed, observing that cGMP’s are followed, production SOP’s are upheld, and production schedules are met. The manager will work with the team to define metrics and strategy to achieve results.  Responsible for assisting in the implementation of lean management principles on the shop floor.

    The manager will act as coach and mentor to transform team into a cohesive, harmonized team. Responsible for counseling colleagues to assure proper development for their success, supporting all colleagues to enable them to reach their full potential, and to provide corrective action when necessary.  Manager is also responsible to ensure timely performance feedback and appraisals for all team members.

    The manager has responsibility to deliver results from a work team that spans three shifts. The position will be based on first shift but will be expected to spend sufficient time with the other shifts, and with leadership on the other shifts, to successfully carry out the job requirements.

    Successful candidate must demonstrate personal leadership initiative, judgment and accountability in day-to-day work activities in addition to strong planning/organizational skills. Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate integrity and cooperation in working with diverse colleagues/groups. Strong technical skills desired.  Must be able to perform regulatory audit tours with knowledge and professional communication of cGMP’s.

    In addition to normal leadership activities, the candidate must be able to:

    • Lead development and execution of capital improvements in the production area.

    • Support new project scoping, costing and business case definition.

    • Provides leadership of CI professionals including career development, succession planning, hiring and workload management to support PCT.

    • Coordinates resources across drug product filling business units.  Includes schedule review, manpower planning, leadership escalation and troubleshooting decision making/investigation support.

    • Leads PHP (Pfizer Human Performance) investigations for 1st shift and coordinates CAPA’s across 3 shifts.

    • Manages additional cross shift resources.

    Qualifications

    Must-Have

    • Applicant must have HS Diploma with ten years of relevant experience;

    • OR an Associate's degree with eight years of experience;

    • OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience;

    • OR a Master’s degree with more than three years of experience;

    • OR a Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience. 

    • The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong scientific reasoning and problem solving, as well as outstanding communication and management skills to guide meetings, provide direction, conduct presentations, while interfacing with business sponsors and executive leadership. 

    • They will be able to engage colleagues globally and will do so in a manner that recognizes the organizational and cultural differences that may exist between their partners around the world.  They will have a solution driven mindset with excellent negotiation skills and will be able to frequently resolve issues with a focus on regulatory compliance.

     
     

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

    Job will include standing, walking, and sitting.  Occasional lifting may be required. 

    NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

    Job will also entail weekend, shutdown and holiday coverage and support of 24/7 operation.
