Working with our innovative engineering team, you'll help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what’s possible and taking action.

    What You Will Achieve

    With NetZero.2040 Pfizer is committed to achieve its decarbonization goal by 2040. Working with Pfizer’s dynamic engineering utilities team, your main goal is building a data driven utilities infrastructure.

    As a Manager Utilities Systems and Sustainability, you have a critical strategic role where you will define, implement, and manage the utility information systems to improve supply reliability success rates, utilities data management and energy reporting that drive NetZero.2040 decarbonization efforts.

    Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and theories of the discipline, you will also work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies for accelerating energy efficiency improvements and decarbonizing efforts.

    You will be able to take a cross functional expert role to facilitate strategic alignment between different teams, locally and on a global level.

    You will collaborate with a local cross functional team of engineers whose focus is on utility systems and infrastructure.  responsible for maintaining and improving site wide utilities such as potable water and water for pharmaceutical use, steam, natural gas, compressed air, Nitrogen, pharmaceutical air, medium voltage electricity and others.

    Your oversight of utilities systems management activities for databases and applications also includes upgrade strategies and system license management.  

    You monitor regulatory and compliance driven demands and trends continuously to adjust policies and remediation's for environmental, energy reporting and dashboarding.

    How You Will Achieve It

    • Adhere to safe work practices

    • Develop a masterplan and roadmap for metering, data management, energy reporting, trending and dashboarding for utilities and related processes    

    • Be an advocate for the Pfizer NetZero.2040 decarbonization program

    • Support the NetZero.2040 deployment Change Management program

    • Implement new technologies and methodologies for utility data to support environmental and energy monitoring and decarbonization efforts.

    • Influence strategic direction, budget and master planning for focus areas.

    • Identify and implement campus wide energy metering solutions

    • Identify and implement required applications and interfaces for metering, dashboarding and reporting

    • Develop a unified utilities data management strategy aligned with core solutions

    • Explore predictive data modeling options for life cycle and energy management

    • Generate and develop system support documentation and standards

    • Simplify (user) processes by using data driven algorithms

    • Coordinate maintenance and support for utilities data management platforms

    • Coordinate colleagues and contractors training for new technologies and applications

    • Collaborate and benchmark with global utilities and sustainability network

    • Following standard operating procedures and standards in a highly regulated environment.

    • Clearly communicate progress and issues to management and peers and keep the masterplan up to date.

    Qualifications

    Must-Have

    • Applicant must have HS Diploma with ten years of relevant experience.

    • OR an Associate's degree with eight years of experience;

    • OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience;

    • OR a Master’s degree with more than three years of experience;

    • OR a Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience. 

    • Experience with process controls and data historians including design and debugging skills

    • Familiar with utilities processes and systems

    • Broad understanding of systems architecture and operations, and related components

    • Excellent project management, presentation and communication skills

    • Good Organizational skills and can meet project task deadlines

    • Proven ability to work in team environment and contribute as a team member

    • Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to change

    • Ability to communicate technical issues to management, above site organizations and customers in an effective and understandable manner.

    Nice-to-Have

    • Relevant pharmaceutical experience.

    • The ideal candidate should have background in cGMP regulations and the practical application of those methodologies to control systems.

    • Control systems technical knowledge, such as Rockwell, DeltaV, Foxboro, Wonderware, VMware

    • Data Management experience, IIoT Applications, PDH (i.e. OSI PI).

    • Certified Energy Manager - Certified

    Physical/Mental Requirements

    Office and indoor/outdoor manufacturing plant environment. 

    Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, stairs, walking.
