    Position summary

    The Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) Senior Director/ Senior Compliance Counsel is responsible for supporting development, enhancement and execution of proactive risk management and an effective compliance program for Pfizer Global Supply.  Reporting to the VP and head of the Compliance Governance, Sciences & Manufacturing, this position serves as a compliance advisor to the global PGS organization.

    At the direction of the Compliance VP and PGS QCC Compliance Lead, the PGS Senior Compliance Counsel will be responsible for assisting the PGS organization in maintaining a strong state of compliance, including serving as primary point person to assess PGS training needs and  developing workshops on Pfizer’s compliance expectations and lessons learned from external and internal environment; developing communications strategies to establish a tone of compliance and integrity, and a speak up and learning culture; engaging with PGS leaders within functional lines and working closely with compliance team members to provide proactive compliance support to key areas within PGS.

    The PGS Senior Compliance Counsel provides BU Compliance support to the Compliance Investigations team on active compliance investigations, working with stakeholders across functions to assess and recommend corrective actions and discipline in consistent and fair manner, ensure implementation of effective remediation, and support additional proactive efforts as needed. 

    Counsel will have a close working relationship with the other enabling partners supporting PGS and regular communication and coordination with colleagues across Compliance, Quality, Audit and Legal.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop, Implement and enhance key elements of Pfizer’s Compliance program for the PGS organization globally at the direction of the PGS QCC Compliance Lead
    • Analyze compliance related data and trends (e.g. audits, inspections, investigations, etc.) to proactively identify, assess and prioritize risks, and support development and execution of mitigation plans to enable effective and efficient mitigation
    • Review and provide input on policies and procedures to ensure they are contemporary to current organizational structure and needs
    • Develop, manage and engage in proactive global risk management activities for PGS including: (i) training and outreach efforts, including development and/or execution of training curriculum in key areas; (ii) assistance in the identification, assessment and mitigation of risk; (iii) researching and monitoring emerging trends and changes to the political, legal and regulatory landscape by working with the businesses and other colleagues; (iv) implementation of corporate and divisional policies and procedures and the development of group or division-specific guidance or policies as needed; (v) creative thinking to develop additional tools and controls to enable innovation, compliance, and a culture of integrity; and (vi) support business leader compliance certifications.
    • Coordination of integrity related communications, including updates to leadership on external environment and other compliance-related issues of importance, including investigations and enterprise-wide risk management / integrity and compliance initiatives.
    • At the direction of the PGS QCC Compliance Lead, management of priority risk areas by supporting consistent interpretation of policies/procedures and the development of new policies, procedures, or guidance as needed; engaging in risk assessment activities to identify continuous enhancement opportunities; providing advice and counsel to PGS leaders, process owners and colleagues.
    • Provide significant support to ensure the effective operation of the PGS Quality and Compliance Committee, including acting as Co-Chair of the PGS QCC Operating Subcommittee and supporting PGS functional line risk assessment and mitigation activities
    • Act as liaison to subject matter experts for colleagues in PGS on topics including healthcare compliance topics including HCP engagement, GPIHP, transparency laws, FCPA compliance, conflicts of interest, and support the management of related SOPs and guidance documents, as needed.
    • Work with the Compliance Investigations group to understand the docket of compliance investigations and monitor trends to report to PGS QCC and advise on, develop and support remediation efforts, as needed, and in coordination with the BU Compliance Leads or Regional Compliance leads.
    • Oversee proactive reviews and special projects designed to identify and mitigate compliance risks involving PGS.
    • Track external environment changes, trends and informative lessons learned across Pharma and other industries.  Support QCC briefings on areas of emerging risk/lessons learned. Provide compliance support for integration or business reorganization activities that impact PGS, as appropriate.
    • Provide as needed support on corporate policy interpretations, including conflicts of interests and other compliance-related policies.
    • Manage annual compliance certification process.
    • Support PGS QCC lead in development of LT, QCC and other governance materials.

    Must Have:

    • Bachelors degree with 15+ years of experience OR JD with 10 years of experience
    • Required years of experience per degree qualification above, B.S with 15+ years OR JD with 10 years: Proven capabilities, including years of risk management or law firm and corporate professional experience in advising clients concerning proactive risk management applicable to GMP, supply, and other areas of regulatory compliance.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organization.
    • Experience in healthcare compliance, law, or policy, FCPA or other or other areas of proactive risk management.
    • Ability to work effectively in a global environment.
    • Detail oriented and strong organizational, project management, strategic/business case development and presentation skills.
    • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

    Nice To Have:

    • Juris Doctor or related advanced degree strongly preferred
    • Experience in data analytics preferred
    • Demonstrated strength in leadership, collaboration, judgment and initiative

    NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to travel 15% of the time to provide training, workshops and presentations as needed to colleagues.
    • International travel which may involve weekend travel and non-standard work hours.

    The annual base salary for this position ranges from $199,500.00 to $319,700.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

    Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
