    Whether you are involved in the design and development of manufacturing processes for products or supporting maintenance and reliability, engineering is vital to making sure customers and patients have the medicines they need, when they need them. Working with our innovative engineering team, you will help bring medicines to the world even faster by imagining what’s possible and taking action.

    What You Will Achieve

    As a leader on the Plant Maintenance team, you will be accountable for maintenance and reliability engineering activities involving the redesign, maintenance and repair of utilities systems, buildings and production and non-production equipment. Your role will provide life cycle asset management for the sites infrastructure and building fabric and will ensure that site systems are maintained, calibrated and revalidated in compliance with quality requirements.  

    As a Senior Manager, you will be setting the objectives for multiple projects in your division. Your managerial and technical skills will help in guiding the people in your division. Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will facilitate in instituting knowledge sharing practices in your team and outside. You shall be relied on to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and sets direction for its success.

    How You Will Achieve It

    • Set objectives for and manage multiple projects/ ongoing work activities of moderate complexity within the Operating Unit. 
    • Develop overall strategies for maintenance programs to include production equipment, production support equipment, utilities, facilities, MRO inventory and EAMS (Pfizer’s CMMS application), providing leadership for developing the tactical plans for implementation, and monitor/advise on the execution of these activities. 
    • Provide direction in developing, tracking, reporting and reacting to appropriate metrics for measuring and improving success of maintenance and OEE strategies implemented. 
    • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and respond accordingly to develop the strategies to support them. 
    • Provide leadership and line management to the team, coordinating and overseeing their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers effective and efficient services.
    • Conduct routine inspections of all the systems, planned and unplanned maintenance. 
    • Ensure all the Engineering equipment/ Instruments / systems are Qualified and maintained as per the Schedule of Calibration, Preventive Maintenance & Periodic Re-Qualification.
    • Develop continuous improvement programs that increase the performance and reliability of plant production equipment and utilities systems. 
    • Assist in running an efficient maintenance operation which is able to fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
    • Generate and Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met by working to the overall plan, including management of and reporting.  Takes corrective actions to mitigate performance gaps.
    • Support development of the Site Master Plan and Site Space Plan to ensure effective and strategic use of assets and capital investment. 
    • Design reviews, co-ordination with external agencies and internal customers for the approval of Architectural, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings etc. 
    • Work with the team and other department members to produce effective maintenance strategies, procedures and methods. 
    • Facilitate and support staff and organization talent development.  
    • Develop a talent base of high performing professionals and managers to deliver on business unit and strategic projects. 
    • Create a motivated, committed and engaged project team that fosters innovation and professional development. 
    • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for deviation investigations involving utilities, facilities, and equipment calibration.
    • Act as SME for utility equipment, site facility maintenance, and calibration program during regulatory audits.

    Qualifications

    Must-Have

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant field with 7+ years of relevant leadership experience in a GMP environment. 
    • ​Project management tools and techniques.
    • Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
    • Strong PC skills and experience of packages such as CMMS, Purchasing Information System.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and recognized tools.
    • Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.

    Nice-to-Have

    • Master’s degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience.
    • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) or EIT.
    • Lean Six Sigma experience.
    • Training/certification and/or experience in the application of maintenance reliability principles, in particular Reliability Centered Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance (emphasis on operator care), work control systems to include CMMS and MRO Inventory Management. 
    • Training/certification and/or experience in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Equipment Life Cycle Costing, Root Cause Failure Analysis (using DMIAC principles) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness data retrieval, calculations and reporting.
